Kale Chips

These are a great alternative to chips and still satisfy any salt craving!
I always buy 2-3 bunches of organic curly kale because 1 bunch isn't enough!

Kale needs to be washed well because dirt can hide in the tight curls.
I rip off a leaf at a time, hold the bottom of the stem and rip upwards with the other hand therefore pulling off the kale and leaving behind the stem. (You can use the stems to make a vegetable broth.)

Then I wash the pieces and tear them into chip size pieces. It is important to dry let the kale dry completely before continuing. I lay the pieces on kitchen towels and spread them out so they dry faster.

Then I place the kale in a large mixing bowl and add approximately (for each bunch of kale)
1 tsp of fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp of olive or grapeseed oil
salt to taste

Then make sure that every piece of kale gets lemon juice and oil on it. I rub each piece individually with my hands to make sure each piece is coated.
Spread out the kale chips on a baking sheet and no not overlap! Bake at 350F for approximately 12 minutes. The chips will become a brown/dark green colour and should be very crispy.

Warning- watch carefully as they burn easily
